Normal operating temperature is around 80-85 degC
Oil pressure will change with engine rpm and temperature.

I use a fish tank digital unit with sender on the metal casing - see op temps of 76 to 86 normal, fan cut in at 92 and switch off at 72. 109 was just at the low side of red on the Subie gauge

My oil pressure gauge on an almost unknown EA81 with fresh 20W50 in temps around 8 degrees C outside hits 80 psi for a minute or two. Not seen it at op temp yet, no water in it yet!

Your Fairy is likely an auto - Sube a manual ? Think a difference can be seen just there, as well as engine types etc

I think oil pressure light switches wait for something as low as 6 or 7 psi before setting the idiot light glowing. Your old girl may have a bit of slop all over the shop letting oil leak past the important bits, giving it the pressure drop. Still got light sender unit plugged in and working ? Gonna start asking grade of oil in use, how old it is, service and repair history of the old girl. Hydro lifters don't tick like crazy while oil pressure low ??

two question marks at the end of that little statement turns it into a question. Surely it is not in the realm of some of the cryptic stuff I write ?

just had mine at op temp of 75 - 85C, ambient ....brrr about 8C and noticed the fresh as you can get 20w50 pressure dropped as things warmed up. 80psi was at cold, 60psi at hot with a few revs ~ 1500rpm. let it idle about 800rpm at 80C and oil pressure dropped to 18 psi. Almost didn't need to fit a tacho ! EA81 is of unknown km, but has done just forty four (44) km since it was fitted as a used engine with warranty disc nine years ago. Should be a good one with 190 - 200psi cranking pressure. Hope the oil pump is in similar condition :)

Reckon your L might be ok.
