MY window rattles, fixed like new car :)

My Brumby drivers window started to make awful scraping noises, got hard to wind so left it up, until a boom gate ticket dispenser tricked me.And there it stayed, jammed stuck.

All I needed was another four weeks before the Brumby gets put out to pasture , and this happens. 25,000km , 18 months earlier ( I left notes inside door) it got a rescued regulator, cost noted 'dog food" was the currency - for the guard dog :) - reads bad don't it ??

Scored a two door sedan door to pinch the regulator as they are same as Brumby. Turned out was not the greased up reg at all!

The forward track for the window runs a nylon sleeve on the window holding bracket. It had worn out, and jammed up the works.

part # 762243030

Lucky I bought the whole door for the window had a nice nylon sleeve to slip on. Lubed up the rear roller looking things, top one spins and slides about, the lower one is more fixed, riveted differently so not really designed to turn on its axle. Lubed it all up with Lanotec heavy duty, bolted next regulator in, slid glass in. Like bloody new, no rattles either (which is partly why I bought another ute at xmas :) )

Even though this reg was stuck, the whole job was the easiest I have ever done with these windows and regulators. Musta finally worked them out !!

It certainly pays to pull the door card off to sort out any inner door issues - but getting that door card off isn't the easiest, especially if you've not got a tool to remove the window winder handle!

One thing I hate is realigning the window if you've had the runners out or disconnected.

Why is this brumby being put out to pasture?

Cheers

Rattly window :) , rusted out tailgate at the hinge etc, no tarp, must have a million or more kms on it so generally just time to put the other one on once it gets sorted. I almost stole the new one :p

Yep, much easier with the Jesus clip remover.

Trailer - no. Maybe a letterbox so it can be legally parked on the nature strip :)
