Simply out of curiosity , does anyone know how many targa tops were manufactured, the puropose and total number how many imported into Australia?

And yes the Galactic Lighspeed Red Rocket is a Traga top

Have NFI, but it wouldn't be that many + it's getting harder to find them too ...

I thought there was a web site with import numbers, but I can't find it - FROG may know ?

Found some figures for the US : Subaru sold 92,445 BRATS in North America ...

It doesn't state the model type, So you could extrapolate from them that say maybe a 1/3rd of them would have been Targa tops ?

I've got two, and know of another 4 around the area, so that gives us 7 that we know of now

I guess we could start a count? Dunno how we'd implement it though.

I have a mate in Ayr who has one and I know of a second one still driving around in Ayr. That takes us up to 9

I had a red one.. still have the roof and some odd bits and pieces

I know of another two in the Coffs region, plus one sitting & If all goes well it'll be mine, so what's that 13?

as of 1pm today I now have two here in Adelaide. One project and one 100% roadworthy so thats 15

EDIT this one below may well be silverbullets posting below - it is in exceptionally good condition - has rego and was $1999



this is a project from Vic ( $600) needs a carby o/haul and has a very bad tailgate

There's also a 6 inch lifted one for on gumtree at the moment and I've seen a silver one in perfect condition around near my house, another two for the count!

Thanks guys, does anyone know the reason for the targa top, apart from cosemetics I can't see real value?

Only $2k??? is it still for sale? That could be the one I've seen around locally, it did have a canopy too.

We have 4 between us, me and a mate. 2 silver,1 black undergoing rebuild,and 1 blue bein used for spares as it`s well beyond roadworthy.

I held up on posting this until I heard back from the PMs I sent to Corax and SuBaRiNo

Edit: Got PM replies SuBaRiNo bought it , Corax bought one about two weeks ago for about same price .

Good condition for its age

Bad points:
Only drives in 4wd (Transfer case needs replacing)
Horn only works sometimes
Front right hand panel ding (see photo)
Recaro racing seat has a tear in fabric
Air con installed but not working

I got the targa I think Corax got non-targa.
