Hi all My wife's L series has just stared getting a little bit of oil in the radiator. Im thinking that means either a crack or gasket. Either way Im chasing a pair of heads so I can get them done up and placed on. The main question is, If there is no water in the sump oil, I keep radiator topped up at all times, Is there any damage I can do while I hunt down heads? All so anyone know a good spot to start looking for a pair of heads? I just purchased a parts car but it has a blown fuel injected motor and im told heads are different :/ Thanks in advance

Hi and Welcome blackbeard :)

I would put a bottle of 'Seal Up' in the radiator until you find some heads and yes the EFI heads are different to the carby type.

Weclome to the forum Blackbeard!

Dunno where you can source a set of good heads from out your way, but I'm sure someone in QLD will have some idea...

Second hand is really pot luck and I'm sure that genuine are either unavailable or too expensive to warrant brant new heads.

If you've got oil in the coolant you might find that your heads are fine - heads tend to crack when they've been overheated. I reckon you've done a head gasket.

I'm guessing you're wanting as little downtime on your subi as possible?

Cheers
