dunno whats wrong with it but she has been bypassed so I am guessing it leaks. Wanted to get a new one before I pulled it out as was told it is a PITA to do so to put a new one in.
Will get an old one and rebuild it.

I amd sure I can get them made new for under $350 .... these prices are stupid.
If I can get a radiator for $150 why is a heater core so damn much ??
Anyone in Brisbane got a dead one I can have to use as a template ?

holly crap ... can someone please post a picture ? I am having a hard time believing they can be so damn complicated.

I have no template, and the $350 was for the core. remember i was going to get interstate if i have no luck in WA is... you guessed it QLD.

They aren't complicated, just one of those things that cost alot of money for no reason
Mine needs replacing too, it has developed a tiny hole.
I estimate it will cost about $40 to get it patched up at virtually any radiator place.

money for no reason alright.
So they are just standard style heater core with brass tank and two outlets ?
If so do you think people want them ?
I will just buy a length of core and either make tanks or do them exchange.
Any ideas on core size ?
Trying to sort this before I pull the dash apart

the price is stupid for these things...as standard they have like a plastic end caps on the tank...thats why they fail.....they are not real easy to fix and just replacing the ends is not as easy as it sounds....up to $500 was for getting one made form the old one as a template....if you can get a good second hand one go for it but the chances are it could go at anytime or last another 20 years?????i just blocked mine off....i could not see the point in that much money....but thats just me
