L Series turbo auto button functions ??

two buttons appear to do same thing to the four wheels dash lights

yet to drive this beast

what is function of orange button on t-bar ?

what is function of 4WD auto light on dash near light switch (rhs) ?

the button on the shifter engages rear drive through a fairly weak set of clutches. If they are worn you wont get much in the way of rear drive.

the 4WD auto switch engages 4x4 automatically when you turn the winscreen wipers on. crazy japs...

also when auto button is on..4wd will engage automatically when braking and when hard accelaration is detected..also wipers on will engage 4wd..cheers :wink:

when you switch the wipers on ?? I use Rainex !!

one more question please.

does Subaru recommend auto in 4WD only in wet or dirt/slippery conditions

and will diffs bind like in a manual in 4WD or screw the auto ?

you can leave the auto on 24/7 if you like..but dont leave the shift button on all the time as this will mean it is in 4wd all the time..just the auto button is ok all the time..youll see it come on and off as it needs it...cheers
