Ignition coils - different designs

Post by akpv » Wed May 22, 2013 1:52 am

So my local auto stores didn't stock leads suitable for the forester so I looked up the model in the bosch catalog and orderd from an online shop. They don't fit the at the coil end.

My car has a coil designed like this

and teh leads are made to fit a coil like this

Does any one know what leads would suit? Is my coil standard on a 2000 AU delivered foz? Will give bosch a call tomorrow and see if they can help me out. The leads i got are part number B4777i.

The first coil is all I have seen on models of about your era. Bit of a gender issue :(

You could pull the ends off the old leads and put them onto the new ones, presuming they are just a crimp like standard leads. Could probably pick up new crimps from an auto electric shop for next to nothing.

Good call Doug. Will call Bosch and if they don't want to help I'll take them to an auto sparky

Well contacted bosch, correct part number is B4808i Will probably just return these and stick with my old leads which I degreased washed and dried out, they seem to be working fine again after the clean.
