short shift?

hi all , mite b a bit gay on an l series but has any heard of a short shifter? made 1? dont want to chop the stick either. point me in the right direction. cheers ben

You grind the pivot bracket off and relocate it about 5- 10mm higher and it dramatically shortens the throw.

Could you explain this a little more if possible? Like when you say move it higher, put a spacer in etc?
Also any tricks to minimise the sloppiness in the shift?

Replacing the gear linkage bushes will help stop your slop.

If you unbolt the shift lever you will see a bracket that the shift linlage joins to, there a 2 welds that hold it in position if you mark out where the hole is then make a mark about 5 mm higher so when you reweld the braket the hole will sit 5mm higher, you dont want to make position the bracket to high or it will foul on the transmission tunnel.
