Yeah, I saw that earlier today... Got me puzzled as the Subaru website doesn't mention anything on the Auto Diesel...
I think the Fairfax article is just wrong! Wouldn't be the first time...

Are we allowed to say FUGLY?
Subaru are losing the plot with the Forester IMO.

When it comes to that you are! The backs OK but that front...Crikey
I like the wheels though
Subaru are losing the plot with the Forester IMO.
Are they what! I just dont understand...theres a good market for a smaller SUV thats capable offroad but with good performance onroad, while keeping a
VERY loyal customer base. Whoever is making the decisions needs a new line of work me thinks.
"it’s 35mm longer than before, while it's 15mm taller and 20mm wider. The new car also rides on a 25mm longer wheelbase".
Thats bigger than the SH, which is considerably bigger than the SG or SF. When will they stop? Perhaps when its a Pajero???

Humm, if it was as capable as a Pajero, I wouldn't really mind, the XV would take Foz's place and all would be sweet...
Problem is, they are growing the thing and not making it any way more capable, so it will end up as a Kluger and be solely used to drop the kids off at soccer practice...

FUGLY!
When are the subaru design team going to realise that 90% of the attraction to subarus are their sizing between the medium/large vehilce categories and the small/medium categories?? The other big factor I think is their safety. Going larger is not the way to go - when do you stop??????
I must admit that I'm not a purchaser of new vehicles, this is one reason why. I'll stick with my old subaru that I love the size, look, "simplicity" and it's capabilities.
Cheers

I'm sure thats the market they're aiming at. The most difficult thing most will have to handle is a gutter...

Yes they're getting bigger (and uglier) but so are all new cars. E.g look at a first gen Rav 4 and then look at a new one. Look at a first Gen Liberty wagon now look at the new ones, massive! It's all part of the luxury thing for customers.

Totally agree! The original liberty size was great IMO. The latest ones look like they're trying to to be an SUV without being an SUV - too bigger body on tiny wheels, and making the wheels larger won't make things right!
Subaru shouldn't have moved away from that size of vehicle. But I guess when the likes of holden get a major stake in you that's where you head as ideas bleed between companies

That's in the past but I think the mark has certainly been made.
Stuff the American market if that's who they're trying to satisfy with the larger body. I know in recent years the Local Japanese market were complaining of the size of the vehicle - I'll happily join them on that band wagon!
