Installing Lib RX intercooler set-up onto a Leone Turbo

Anyone have any tips/tricks when it comes to installing a Lib RX water/air set-up into a Leone GTII.
I have bought an L-series turbo wagon that has been partially stripped - currently fitted with the set-up, but it doesn't seem as though the system (as fitted) was put in with much care and attention (and I am not sure what constitutes a full water/air set-up). There may even be old thread that some one may be able to link (as I am sure that this has been done before)
The Leone sedan that will be getting the set-up is a GTII Turbo AWD 4AT etc, not sure if there are many about, it was apparently a Subaru Company vehicle and has a condition 301 on the licence papers (exempt from ADR compliance) also everything is in Japanese!
Cheers!

You have got to post lots of photos of this!!!, oh and welcome to the forum!

This is the intercooler I had in my old L series turbo
I also had a TF035 from a GT forester which is why my turbo looks different

Thanks Gannon
I seem to have it plumbed different on the wagon - where did u fit the water pump? and I can see that I am going to have to make a few custom brackets to fit the set-up. was there any appreciable lag with the set-up?
will post pics (I take photos to remind myself as I have a crap memory!)

'exempt from ADR' sounds interesting...
would love to see it!

ME TOO!

And Grryffyn, where you mount the water pump is up to you. I've found that I've had to get creative with my subaru, as I'm sure others on here have done too. You can even mount it in the guard under where the battery mounts, loads of room in there - the models with air suspension have their air tanks and compressor mounted in there!

I don't think those intercoolers induce lag, if any that'll be noticeable! Unlike a front mount anyway ;)

Love to see the 301 tag, sounds much like it relates to NSW RTA rule 301.
The pump could theoretically be anywhere you can fit it.
Did the RXII come with a spare wheel tub in the engine bay like all my and L Series or tucked in the back like a Vortex?

Suck it and see with change in any lag - hook up a take off for boost gauge on hot and cold side of intercooler perhaps.
I am thinking about removing the charcoal cannister along with petrol tank, factory efi airbox already gone, remove the suport bracket in same location and see if I can mount WAIC in this front corner on my GLTM5

Same mould as the L series so I'm sure the spare is still under the bonnet ;)

You wont notice any increased lag with this setup. If anything your boost threshold may be a bit lower because of the increased intake density.

If you look carefully, I mounted my pump just below the intercooler to the passenger side rear. It makes it easy to work on, but you can hear it running from inside the cabin

I fitted one to my L.Series wagon. Even though it's EJ conversion, the only real only difference is the intake pipe to the throttle body and with the many different models/designs of silicone hoses these days, you should be able to buy something straight off the shelf. I fitted my pump in the LH gaurd and ran the hoses through the radiator support panel. I also fitted extra rubber around the hose where it comes through the panel.

Here's my car... showthread.php?t=18280&page=11

I recommend that when you fit it, make sure it's attached to the engine, so it can move/shake in time or you'll be forever refitting the hoses.

Also, just for future reference, the WAIC is of the RS Liberty Gen1 models.

As for ADR, I cannot see how it changes anything as you're not venting the air (unless you fit a BOV) and if you fit a BOV, just hook it up like Gannon had on his.

mount to engine rather than body is good reason not to mount mine in the corner - came across my mind too. Don't forget when trying to make the different size tubes, pipes and hoses fit each other an exhaust place is good to get a piece of pipe expanded or shrunk a little to get good fit between hoses if silicone hoses not prcise enough.....
