EBay: MSD Blaster coil

Spotted this on Ebay, it's a nice performance upgrade for EA81/82's, run it with a spark plug gap of 1.1ish mm
The blaster 3 is identical to the blaster 2 except for the high voltage connection, this one requires a lead which would normally go from a spark plug to the dizzy

What do you mean by this?
And would I need i new "main" hv lead cause the top on the blaster coil looks completely different to an ea81 one.

Yeah that's it, I'm running a Blaster 3 in mine bacause thats what they had in stock, they threw in a suitable hv lead, the Blaster 2 is the same as the stock coil as far as connections.

No idea, just showed them my current coil lead and they grabbed one the same length but with the right ends.

Do you know if its woth it on Ea82T's as they run 1.1mm standard. Any other gains other than a larger spark (like a more reliable spark)?

so this coil would have the same winding resistance as the stock one?

I don't know how the resistance compares to the stock coil but I've been running mine for over a year with the EA82 electronic distributor with out a hitch.
It does say that if you have points then you need to run a ballast resistor.

The primary winding DC resistance is slightly less (8223 hi-vibration coil) than stock, I remember measuring it, sorry can't recall now by how much
.......maybe 4ohms less
I use it with a CDI, i'm sure it would excell by itself also.

itihnk i have the electric points e.g. a black box in dizzy, so i dont need balast resister?

sounds about right, also check if theres a resistor on your current coil, usually a little white rectangular block connected in series with your coil mounted on the coil bracket.
You can run a points setup with out the resistor but most likely it will either ash the points or burn out the coil within 6 months, sometimes you can get away with it though.

It's a 12 inch chev clutch, my hands are massive and I'm a proctologist
Nah, it's actually a sherpa clutch, it's tiny, I haven't measured it yet but u get the idea from the picture, and just to clear it up my hands are normal and I don't go anywhere near peoples arses.
EJ18 is coming along nicely, about to try to work on the loom.
