stuck button, can't select windscreen-only duct vent
How do I fix this?
It was working fine before but now it acts jammed.
All the other vent buttons work.
This is on a 1993 L Series

Does the button move (ie click in and out) but no change to where the air is directed?
If so, prob a vacuum line off the back the cluster - easy to knock if you are fiddling around back there.
And a tip for new players - when you think you have found it, and replaced it, test with the car running - is vacuum powered...

if they are like the 85 L buttons on left pod you can pick them out. My rear demist button top of other pod does same and takes a bit of encouragement to disengage - dunno why I try as the rear demister not worked since the big circuitry fry three years ago
Maybe some silicone spray behind button will fix yours ??

You'll be able to lever the button out with a small screw driver, be gentle though as the little tabs that hold the black frame on are prone to breaking, the top one is a PITA to get a good one to replace with.
Once that's removed push the clear looking part to see if it will come free. If it does there's an issue with the black button getting stuck, some sort of grease or graphite might do the trick.
If the clear looking part doesn't come free there's an issue inside the cluster part. Even more of a PITA to sort out/get to.
Let us know how you go, if it's a cluster issue, then I'll write out some instructions - too stuffed to work around the CBF'd cloud that's hanging around at the moment...
Cheers
