So I'm turning 18 in a few weeks and already have a 2000 Subaru Impreza RX S (Oct). To be honest its not the fastest car I've ever driven...... haha but I love it!. I'm not a generic P-plate driver that drives a commodore or a falcon hooning around streets at night.... So back to the situation

..... I have about 1k to spend upgrading it, I've been told by multiple people that there's no point ecu flashing it and doing a chip because its not going to have a performance gain. I'm sure the car will be limited from the factory.... I'm guessing and that's what the ecu will take care of.

I was wondering if someone else has some experience in it or could give me some advice on what to do to help with some performance.

Welcome, and congratulations!
First thing I would be doing is ringing S&J auto (in Adelaide) and asking what they think you should do with 1k. They work with all sorts of performance subarus and know their stuff. Check out their bookface page.
What condition is it in? And how many km? This may dictate where some of this money goes.

Cheers Cam

$1K at S&J on NA RX?!

Not worth anyone's time.

If you must, an exhaust and CAI may do something, but for the $$$ is just not worth it.

Suggest ICE, tint and some nice rubber. As is often advised, a well kept std car is more impressive than one with a 4 inch cannon that looks 'fully sic bro'

The RX is a very nice looking car, and yes, while it doesn't set the world on fire, it is pretty well balanced.
