Check the compliance plate - it'll be mounted on the firewall somewhere - it's usually silver and will have the VIN etc and the compliance date stamped into it. This is what's taken as the model year.

You'll also find the build date tag, usually on the LHS (passenger's) strut tower near the guard.

Cheers

Usually from 9/99 will be classed as an 1999 MY00, that's the year change over for the majority of Subis.

what is the digit before the G towards the end of your VIN?
if its a X then its model year 99, if its a Y its MY00.

The grille is a dead giveaway too.. unless someone swaps it, that grille was only available on the MY00 model.
