Hi,
I have a 1989 brumby ute with a blown up motor. Does anyone know what I can replace it with legally here in New South Wales with the most amount of horse power with the least amount of drama?

cheers

EA81 fits straight in, no complications and no power increase.

What you have is an EA81, The most simplist thing to do would be replace it with another, and then if you want more power then there are some pretty simple things that you can do.
Such as A Weber carburettor, Ignition stuff, exhaust, etc.
This is the easiest and cheapest option for you.
My 2c

I think I know of a Brumby smashed up the rrrr's with an EA81 still sitting in it - most amount for least trouble - no such thing

I never owned a running ea81 until my VW conversion started up. But with the EI, weber 32/36, nice exhaust with joiner, iridium plugs, 8.8mm thick leads blaster coil...it has nice power output. 74hp at the flywheel.

all documented in these pages and assisted by these great club members.

repalce the ea81 with another , get it reliable, then reconsider your options like doing up the ea81 thats blown.
