LINK below is no longer
and, for those wondering,
NO change to the hole in door to accept the Solex lock of '99 to this pic - for RHS door
here is the outside pic anyway

ah, that is the distributor from years back - need the latest adobe acrobat to read it
Sorry, forgot to say these locks are the barrel key style door/ tailgate locks that have a deadlock feature for a little more added security, the smaller key does not stick into things like a normal key, not easily opened wirtth a screwdriver or other key.
The lock itself is usually a universal fit with interswap cams on the rear, got some years ago and found they claimed it fitted the Brumby, ended up calling to get a better fit cam thingy to get it to work better, but not entirely better as dead lock was more a two o'clock or 10 o'clock position instead of 3 or 9 and required filing off the alignment tit at the keys tip to remove once dead locked
thanks alang

cam, link thing to swap on the back of lock has a 3 on it. Still need to remove locator tit off key to extract it from barrel at two o'clock position as it won't get around to 3 o'clock where it would normally release.

^ Talking to yourself Johnno??
What are the current numbers for the correct unit for the MYs? And what was the mod to the hole of the door?? Or did it just slot in?
Cheers

The correct term for the doodad on the back is "latch lever" and #3 dog bone type (as there is a #3 dog bone plus tab" type) was not included 15 years ago. It does not give full 180 degree turn, neither does #'s 1 or #2 dog bones. Asking them if there is a #4 dog bone ......

The mods ?? Think it was the three and nine o'clock slots you see in pic above.
They come with a bloody decent spring clip on the back too.
More crawling to Nice Products - a light up key and three more keys per set !! Pertty generous !!

UpDATE:
The part number continues to be the one supplied for to fit Brumby and they continue to supply with latch lever BIG-M.
And then all I need to do is list which way the lever fits for left or right fitment
They need to improve things and include the dog bone shaped flat latch lever #3 to avoid disappointment

and phone calls and additional mail out of correct bits !
But, then again, how many are gonna buy such a luxury for their old Brumby ?
Gees, a new solex barrel, feels like it has roller bearings in it compared to the factory stuff !!
the bottom line is when you order these lock sets in to fit the MY Subes you need to specify that Nice include the dog bone shaped flat latch lever to go 90% towards working correctly. You then need to file the locator tit off each key so it looks like the emergency key supplied in the kit, This is because the full 180 degree rotation of the key does not translate to the linkages behind, can still dead lock more at the two o'clock position rather than the supposed to 3 o'clock position

Right! Adding these notes
the pics above are of right hand door. when looking at either door, left or right, the correct lock of the paired locks has the 3 o'clock slot position facing forward on both sides. Well, actually, three o'clock on rhs, nine o'clock on left door !!
For correct fitment on RHS door, not only does lock 3 o'clock position face towards front of car, the latch lever - dog bone shape #3 is again a handed beast, so on RHS the #3 stamping needs to be facing the inside of the door skin - (the metal outer skin) so you'd need aither a mirror, or pull lock out to read the number.
I'l know when I get left fitted up whether the 3 on dog bone is visible as viewed from inside door - opposite to rhs.
There are no mods to the hole or slots of the door skin to fit these nice locks in place, fit straight in once the dog bone is in place and the included pull lever retainer thingy.
Also included are beefed up over standard door lock retainer springs.
Back to the only problem is due to no dog bone specific for MY application, the dead lock function does not rotate fully to that 3 o'clock position. It might if you fiddled and filed more out of the stoper inside the dog bone. It is easier to file the tit off the three of four keys that come with the locks. Four keys in total
There is a major key with built in light, two normal keys, and an emergency key that is for odd position lock undoing in an emergency - it already has its tit filed off.
I think it took me longer to get the window reg handle off than it did to install the lock
happy...next door..... again, same story with the winder handle, even though I had the tool ! Ended up using right angled end of a scribe pick thing successfully each time.
Next car ..... done, and this one got some excellent masking of damage done by some smacktard trying to break into "Sarge"s Brumby at the back of the pub several years ago, next door. All set, and confirmed lhs the 3 on the dog bone latch lever faces in to the car interior, opposite to the rhs
Funny how a tale a stolen Brumby some years back, retold today, motivated me to fit these tonight !
