EJ injector wiring

Post by shuffbag » Fri Jan 20, 2012 4:42 pm

so my ej22 is dropped in witing to fire, but its been so long since my last conversion im..... a little lost.

the engine has spark and the fuel pump is getting power, but it doesnt go.

so my qestion is in regards to the injectors, how are they activated? do they have constant power and are earth triggered?
or is constant ground with pulses of positve to triggers them?

Constant power via the ignition relay and earth triggered via the ECU.

Have you got the fuel hoses hooked up correctly? The supply from the pump goes to the rail that feeds the injectors, and the return line is hooked upto the outlet on the fuel pressure regulator. You should be able to feel the fuel supply line swell slightly when the pump primes.

yeah its hooked up correctly, this was a efi engine before so i just sloted the ej in and switched the hoses.
i think its feed at the top, return lower right and tank breather lower left.

thats looking at the lines from the engine straight on

Yeah that sounds right, the feed is at the top.

You can use a test light, but it will only glow dim at low throttle openings. You can also use a screwdriver with the handle against your ear, and the pointy end on the injector, with somebody turning the key for you, you should hear them clicking
