Hi guys,

Apart from the H6 in the SVX. What other engines could i put in there? Would a 99wrx engine be powerful enough or should i stick with the vortex? Might be able to get an SVX:) unless one of you guys now look for it and buy it:(

And what would be faster, a wrx engine in a vortex or SVX?
Vortex right?

Thx

The SVX weighed 1625kg and the 169kW and 309Nm EG33 was able to pull it to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds.

1999 WRX EJ205 was only 160kW and 290Nm.

Id leave the EG33 in there

Only? lol. How did they get so much from a 2L? Seems pretty good to me...

Well the STi version was good for over 200kW

thats the prob, the eg33 has been taken out and sold...

So the ej20t in a vortex would be faster?

EJ20t would be best suited to the vortex.

Or you could get a H6 halfcut and drop that in the SVX. They're an interesting looking vehicle IMO - I'd like to see the interior. My impression is that the SVX is the update on the Vortex that's found some ground that's not so left field like the Vortex's was...

Cheers

Anyway changed my mind, I'll stick to the vortex. Paul needs to get it as spares for his but he is out of cell range.

Still learning Subie engines...I thought the EJ205 was a later model N/A EJ20 & the EJ20G (I think) was the turbo...

Was the STi EJ25t (not sure of the designation)?

200KW is pretty serious power as a standard engine, add an exhaust, lightened flywheel, up the boost & I'm sure a few other simple mods & I'm guessing you'd be getting 250KW or more

Just how many members have an SVX or more anyway? Didn't think there were any at all, thought they'd gather elsewhere

Aww thats too bad, cos there is an EZ36 on RSlibertyclub for sale. 191kW and 350Nm of torque, would haul the SVX's heavy arse along quite well.

EJ20G was the early WRX and RS Liberty engine that had the right angle entry to the turbo.
The later model 2.0L NA engines were EJ201, EJ202 or EJ204 for the latest models with DOHC and AVCS/AVLS
WRX after 1996 had EJ20K until 1999 when it went to EJ205 and EJ207 for the STi.
When the WRX went to 2.5l in about 2004 with the EJ255 and EJ257 for the STi.

At least a couple on rslc.

Been to perth in one years ago. A very smooth and comfortable ride. Takes a while to get going, but the mid range from memory is very impressive.

You will be if you continue to use that sort of language around me again :p

I just found out today that this car is an import so it can not be licenced. I will however use it for spare parts for my red one.

Saw one of those 'imported for race or parts only cars' end up registered with an engineer certificate - the whole car was constructed from scratch - just looked like a Mitsu GTO :) home made car type thing. It entered the country through WA, got Vic rego, then NSW rejected it - then started the poo fight, easily sorted by a quick thinking engineer
