Well done, probably the only trike I've seen that I like, Ive got a couple of mates that have/had the same kit as you and I couldn't stand the sight of them.........I think it's the roof and colour that set it off.

thanks guys.

I do agree- you either love trikes or hate em. I happen to like some and hate others lol

But the "cool" VW trike hits the mark but it has to be a good colour. Red just doesnt hit it for me. Metallic is common but I dont like that either. I like most pastel colours with chrome or black trim.

Mag wheel are on 99% of VW trikes and I dont like them either hahah. wires wheels lean a trike towards a bike in my view.

Some dont like whitewall tyres on trikes yet, seeing as I've opted for a sort of hot rod unique look I will be getting them on all 3 wheels this month. I have to first get the bushes done on the rear to stop inside wear.

Everytime I mount this machine it stirs my blood. The choice of the ea81 is bringing the benfits I sought. Powerful enough to give me thrills yet economical enough to be a good improvement at the pump.

Yeh, looks like Tweety will be on a 2013 triketalk calendar end of this year. will keep you posted. one has to at least grace the walls of Dom's Subaru spares in Griffith eh Frog?

Yeah the two I know are maroon & metallic green ewwwwww, here's one I saw regularly parked outside a pub in Chiang Mai in Thailand, at least you could dine by candle light whilst being chauffeured from place to place lol.

there aren't many trikes out there that I havent seen. including the green tractor one. "hillbillies".

dont know what happened to your IP Toonga.

I'm going to be controversal and fit white walls tyres/ or inserts. they wouldnt look good on a triek without a roof. trikers like the white lettering but think white walls will give that ROD effect better.

of all the subaru's I've seen I think late 70's coupe's might look ok with white walls.

For those interested the story of my trike roof, its design, engineering etc is to be read in Roadrider "cruiser and trike" magasine coming out soon in newsagents. Is at the printers today 9/1/2012.

This will be my second story published, the first being the trike close to as it was when purchased.

So a third story mentioning the subaru ea81 conversion to VW type 3 automatic along with other mods like the windscreen, functioning heater, tyre options (psssst! Tweety is to get whitewall tyres to essentuate the "Rod" look in about 4 weeks time...on order) will be a third story for their consideration.

I have a long term plan to write a story on campers and small caravans for trikes and motorcycles.
