One of those days!

So after a year of hard work (amid lots of procrastination and lack of funds) I finally got the Lib on the road. Replaced the engine, clutch, all the front suspension bushes, tyres etc etc. The tie-rod ends have now gone (front wobbles above 90) but thats another story.

My daughter finally got her licence and two weeks later her mitsubishi mirage decides to blow it oil rings :( No worries, got a 2nd hand engine from the wreckers today to occupy my time off the xmas break. Loaded it in the back of the lib (engines are very heavy things and don't move around much) and drove out. As soon as I got into second gear the enginge performs a 360 degree spin straight into the back windscreen :???::???::???:

So my question is, does anyone know how much it is to buy a rear windscreen, or would I be better off just buying a replacement tailgate from the wreckers????

One of those days...............

Pretty sure it would be cheaper to buy a whole tailgate than just the rear windscreen. Ohhh and i've got a good white tailgate for sale too, If yours is the gen1 lib:)

Bummer!!!! Congrats on getting the lib on the road at least, my inspection at vicroads was supposed to be tomorrow afternoon but brakes refusing to bleed properly and a roadworthy inspection scheduled for 8am tomorrow that won't be done = no rego before xmas :(

Checked online for a local melbourne pick a part, rear door with electrics was $80...

Good luck!

Good to know since there's a bit over a week to go!

And SubieMad - I'd be tying down anything that's heavy, especially if it's IN the vehicle with you. Just because it's heavy doesn't mean it won't move!

Cheers
