Reading the post about the bbq and tigger ashed if there was any of the WA mob going to be there and got me thinking that it is never to early to start thinking about next years BYB BBQ and seeing how serious we all are about making the trip .
I for one would definately be in So anyone that really thinks they would do it should start making arrangements for hollidays noy and getting some savings going .
I was thinking on the lines of making the trip a 14 day one.
Thoughts people ?.

We didn't really keep a log of what we spent last time .What I can tell you is to expect it to cost about 80 to 100 dollars a day for fuel dependent on of course distances traveled, we camped nearly every night we were away and usually off the road a bit allthough it was nice to use the carravan parks for some nights so we could have a hot shower.
Food we took pretty much every thing with us and cooked our own meals every day.
we were also thinking about popping up to fraser Island again for about 2 days while we were over there.

Would love to drive it, only would like to some of the roads less traveled on the way over/return. In addition to this if we go east (To Qld) then we will have MAJOR family commitments thus we will need to spend more time over there then you therefore we would only be able to travel 1 way with you. Do not get me started on $$$ =
We'll havea serious look however i am not hopeful for BYB BBQ in Qld 2006. Sorry

If you WA guys get your poo in a pile and treck over,
I will drive up from Tassie!
All states should be represented.

Well, Tasbrat....I suppose you would be coming past Victoria on your way. I'll have to give some serious thought to setting up a convoy !!
Yeh ...thats serious enough; see you at my place next October !!

Hmmm could be an idea there Mike... we could trek around and pick up others on the way from each state. Im still really interested. But only if i can manage to get hachie to use less fuel. Im thinking.... electric engine with HUGE solar panels.

Right O Steve, sounds like a plan.
SubaRiNo, it doesn't sound like its using much fuel at the moment!
