Looking at the wiring diagrams I figured it could be done, so a little bit of google searching found that somebody in the UK had done the same thing.

Should run better because the old coils were causing a misfire when on boost. If this coil fails a replacement is easy to come by because every EJ22 and EJ25 up to 1998 has one
Went this way over Bosch coils because this was easier and cheaper

I plan on doing a build thread, but il get it all tuned up and running in its final configuration first as to not tell lies. Basically a homemade manifold holding a Harley V-twin throttle body. I built my own ecu to control it.

you built your own electronic fuel injection board from scratch ? Very clever, arf, arf, arf !

Just how many wire connections coming from your efi box ?

So, after crawling to you, do you know how a knock sensor works say off a 4.0 I6 EF EL Falcon and whether it can be monitored simply with power in, DMM output ?

Not that hard, Tweety did single point FI.
Just depends on how many sensors you want and if you can find/ get someone to write a decent code for you.
So whats that extra pulley for? Power steering?

Tweety used an American sourced complete EA82 Subaru SPFI setup.

Doug has used a Harley throttle body and has done all the work himself, including the ECU.

The pulley is for the power steering.

Yes, am going back to carboe from SPFI.
The SPFI ran just ok. Could be that both head gaskets were blown as to why it ran like a pig and just got me home one night then out came the engine.

So the SPFI system is for sale. Minus the manifold. If someone wanted to source a manifold from USA then the kit would be complete. Would make a good project.

System is $250 plus freight. or pick up Strathbogie. Includes spares like injector, throttle sensor etc.turn right at the black stump.

I suggest any buyers should not be novices, have some good electronic knowledge and be single...lol
Oh, by the way- took my manifold down to carrum Downs. A mate (engineer) is to build an adapter for the 38/38

Today I did an oil change on jetcar shell 15w40 and one of these ebay oil filters I bought 6 for 16.80 + 4 dollars postage.

I did the same on PJ the brumby, I used gulf western 20w50 in PJ and the same oil filter. but ended up doing a power steering fluid change without wanting to :(

I have had a leak on the return line from the rack since I put the power steering in. Not a real problem but today I moved the line to get to a spark plug lead ( I was going to check the plugs) and the join came apart on the rack end. That's odd I thought, as the broken line dumped the power steering reservoir on the concrete, the EJ line was in good condition when I put it on nearly 3 years ago... oh wait nearly 3 years of constant abuse at my hands and hose clamps instead of a pressure clamp at the rack join ... nice combination. (remember I've got an MY rack and EJ PS pump)

I pulled the return line off and thankfully I had a length of fuel hose that was up to the challenge of running from the rack to the reservoir. I nearly pulled the dizzy out to get the flange nut located properly.I put a pressure clamp on the rack end and eventually got the line back onto the reservoir with another pressure clamp. a good dose of PS oil and I was back in business.

I will tell you how the oil filters go but for all intensive purposes they look just like a ryco unit inside.

Equal exhaust headers

decide to try change my exhaust to straight through 2" pipe with equal headers...totally lost the boxer sound :(:(:(

Thought i felt like i gained a lil bit on gears 1 - 3, but onwards just felt like it lost power.

Going back to stock with 2" straight through pipe after the Y

Any advice will be highly appreciate

Equal length extractors will gain some kw at the flywheel but you will drop the subi beat - it's all about exhaust pulses. The factory Y pipe runs the left pulses into the right hand pulses hence the "thumping" sound.

By making things equal you effectively give the differing exhaust pulses a gap to fill and flow neatly like a set of gears meshing together.

So your H4 subi will now sound like a straight 4 cylinder...

2 inch from the cat back or the Y pipes back will be ample. It's more about the mufflers than the diameter. I've recently found out that 2 and a quarter inch on my EJ22 is too big for the engine for optimal performance :(

I've been hanging out with an awesome "old dude" that's been building exhausts for everything special since we were all in nappies...

Finished installing the Dual Battery System for our Fridge and finished installing a new floor in the back of the Forester with some extra support for under the fridge - still yet to install the carpet - but that should be done during the week sometime.

Also installed the Roof Basket extension along with clips on the side of it to hold a full length shovel.

Side awning should be installed during the week too - will post pictures once it has been done :)
