That's awesome SilverBullet! You'll love the braided lines, they make a HUGE difference in the feel of the brake pedal!

Cheers

Glad to hear it :)
custom braided brake lines! :p Stainless steel tested up to 3000 PSI (yes three thousand)) and I got them made up longer to accommodate the lift kit I have planned

Could be mate, the kit has a much larger stud pattern for the carby & adapter plate

What is the legality of braided lines in SA, or any other state for that matter? Can't hurt to have a nice pedal feel...

Power Brakes manufacture rubber and stainless steel braided brake and clutch hoses on site and are 100% compliant with the current Australian Standard for brake hoses (SAE J1401).
That's from where I got mine done, I didn't even realize there would be any legality issues

Hey all,
Ever since I got my Brumby I've been meaning to change the fuel filter that is under the car near the pump. The last couple of trips to work & back it has been coughing & losing power up the longer hills. So I got a filter & finally changed it, problem solved.
The one I took off was close to 100% blocked, couldn't blow through it at all! I'm amazed it was still running. Anyway a good result & I got away with my laziness.
The filter I got ended up being a Z349, it fit perfect, dunno what it should be but this was exactly like the one I pulled off.

Cheers Jake

Sounds like a result! Thinking I should do the same with all the filters around my ute, I've never replaced any since I've had it.

Today I just did an oil and filter change on my Brum, can't remember when I did it last  I used Nulon engine oil flush for the first time; pour it in and let it idle for 15 minutes before changing oil. The hot oil came out looking like brown water...Afterwards I vaguely remember people talking about oil flush eating away deposits that were helping to seal marginal old oil seals on old engines...time will tell if I made a mistake or not

I took off the rear bumper today & removed the side vents & sealed up the holes. I also sealed up around various other plugs I found. Next is to rip up the carpets & do all the drainage holes in the floor.

Then bring on the mud holes

As long as they are plastic coated and are made to DOT approval, they are legal to use.. at least this is the case in WA :)

Aren't these designed to release pressure when closing the doors and allowing the fresh air system to work efficiently?
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

Yep. They also let in large amounts of stinky putrid mud when bogged! lol.

There is a slight build up of pressure closing the door, bit more closing the tailgate, but not bad. Have to wait & see how it affects fresh air entry but others who have done it have found it to be fine

That's the same in Vic - I asked for braided lines and got something I wasn't expecting - plastic coated units. When I asked about them I was told that these are the legal units for road vehicles.

Cheers

I gave the Brumby a much needed bath & put the 14" rims back on.

It does look pretty good with those rims on it I reckon.
I snapped this shot on the way to work this morning.

Cheers Jake
