It wasn't my Subie but today my brother brought is 04' WRX around for help installing his new head unit and speakers. The 2 front ones were component speakers (for slim profile) with tweeters and both front and rear needed spacers/adapter rings. The multimeter got plenty of use and I went through almost a meter of heat shrink, but the wiring back there no longer looks like a ball of electrical tape and everything is soldered rock solid. Everything went without a hitch and now he's got a more decent sound system than his old 30 watt nonsense :) He came over at 10AM and only just left at around 6...yeah there was plenty of work to be done hehe

Very nice! I was after a troop carrier of that vintage some time ago but couldn't find a decent one for the right price.
I ended up with a V6 4runner which drove nice but had a thirst I'm sure is half the reason why the world is running out of fossil fuels!

Cruisers are ridiculously expensive, I guess I've being looking for a year or so. Mine is a utility, so even more.

This one was cheap as, but it's interstate. So off tomorrow for a very long bus trip and drive home!

I went to Kilsyth Pick a Part today. Now my Brumby has intermittent wipers. I grabbed the switch & relay from a Touring Wagon, it was a simple plug & play job. Now the wipers even start & stop when you press the washer button.

Cheers Jake

The trick is to find a sedan so it doesn't have the rear window switch...but the wagon one will do the job
1989 Brumby - Shiny new red paint, stroked EJ20 phase 2 SOHC with Darton sleeves bored to EJ22, Wiseco high-compression pistons, Delta 2000 grind cams , EJ/XT6 5 stud with WRX 4/2 pots, 5-speed, 86 GTS seats and so much more.
Contact me for reproduction XT6 hubs...and EA82 rear discs.

Yeah true, if I was being picky I would prefer the sedan or coupe switch. No big deal though, it's all working now, so I'm happy.

Mate I was too worried about pulling out the rack & getting the car all undrivable when I wasn't sure if I had what I needed to make it work. No probs though cos I got the coupling out of the same wagon today. The bracket you sent for the rack is gonna work though.
Thanks for all ya help & I'll post on here as soon as I get it all working.

Cheers Jake

Full front bush replacement, full recond steering rack, new spare 27 inch 8.5 r14.

Next to be replaced are all 4 shocks (just waiting to go on) and hd springs, Alternator, Clutch, 35w HID Headlight kit (here this week), standard Hitachi carby to be replaced with a Weber, rear cv's, then I can start on the body, might have to get a 4th job.

Heya Bloke, I have "Maxis Bravo 751" 27inch 8.5 r14, these tyres are getting harder to source and prices have ranged from $190 to $240 per tyre fitted, I tend to have less dramas finding them with Bridgestone tyre centre's than other's.

Cheers

I got my Brum back today (still getting over the drive shaft swap debacle) with 2 expensive brand new drive shafts, and a replaced gearbox. Drives sweet, smooth and quiet at last!

And I got another bag of lovely brand new parts for the wagon to put away on the shelf for the reassembly; custom braided brake lines! :p Stainless steel tested up to 3000 PSI (yes three thousand)) and I got them made up longer to accommodate the lift kit I have planned. Also had them make a new solid line for one of the rear trailing arms as one of mine was busted, just supplied samples of everything and it was ready the next day and the solid line is 99% identical to the old one :) Now to get my calipers overhauled and master cylinder sleeved.

Power Brakes at Holden Hill for anyone who is interested, they do mail order as well just visit their website.
