what colour to paint Brumby Well back

Post by revmax » Mon Oct 24, 2011 6:08 pm

After I spent most of today blasting and painting my Brumbys well back it now has a two pack epoxy primer, but I can't decide what colour to paint the well back.
Do I paint it Brumby red or the " colour fleck" ya know the beige colour with black flecks through it. The well back has some dints and holes where the rust used to be.
Does the colour fleck look good on a red brumby.
Please share your thoughts.

Mate are you going to be putting any loads in the back at all?

Im at the same stage as you on my 88 Brumby (Tub is stripped and 2k primerd)

Im going to spray mine with a urethane coating, as opposed to using a tub liner.

But i reckon metalic red with clear over would look the goods.

bungers. it is already 2 pak urethane. I like the metalic red. Claret Red Metalic pearl. (My old Hd was that colour) BUT gotta keep simple enough for me. The wellback surface already has some dints holes and runs so I don't realy want to do anything to highlight the imperfections. Yer it would look nice if the rest of the car was the same colour.

The urethane coating a meant was this one http://www.tuffcoatings.com.au/rhino-lining/

Hides imperfections, is tough and long lasting.

Im not too sure on colours, im having a tonneau cover installed so you wont see the lining. The section abobe the tonneau (around the rear windo) will be painted the factory colour.

basically its a rubber like thing that they spray on like you would paint due to that they can do whatever so you could have it beige with a black subaru emblem in the middle if you wanted

I have a feeling a light colour is gonna give light 'reflection' issues in your rear vision mirror at night, from street lights.........
