Not if you put thick enough under body sealant and make sure you grind all the welds flush, they'll never know and if they do suspect something they can poke it with a screwdriver or whatever and they will only find steel.

hahaha true ill have a look but i got a feeling the whole car might be a bit far gone
it used to be a perisher car so it went up and down a wet and salty road for years before we got it

Yeah you'll probably find the sills and bottom of the pillars are rotten on the inside if the rails are rusted out, I'd look for another & swap whatever you can/need over to the rust free one.

ok.....you guys need to think outside the square.
The brumby body is ratshit! end of story. it has gone to heaven and aint commin back. lets move on.
But he loves his Subie. So buy a newer Forester rustfree one for a daily.
Then with your engine that sweet little ea81 from the brumby you start building something for Church on Sundays. Something that will slow up the prayers and take those sad souls seeking forgiveness a thing off their mind.
and you build this-
sell the parts left over, and feel the breeze.

:-D:

Just cut all the useless panels off it, patch up the chassis & weld a couple of strengthening rails underneath & instant 4WD buggy, why bother making one.
