Seriously? Damned you Australia!! ;)

Post by suparu » Thu Sep 22, 2011 3:18 pm

You guys get ALL the coolest stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Cosworth STi

A special, FACTORY production marriage of STi and Cosworth!!
http://subaru.co.uk/vehicles/cosworth

AND this new factory lifted Impreza, aka the Subaru XV!!
http://subaru.co.uk/vehicles/xv/

That's WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too cool!!!!

You guys need to start shipping some of that awsomeness over the pond, all we're getting are these stupid-big, heavy, lunky, worthless, looks-like-every-other-car-on-the-road Subarus now :???:

I mean really, an Impreza that has the same dimensions as my mid 90's Legacy? An Outback that shares the same roof height as the silly Tribeca?

Let it be known, We are envious (well, at least I am ;) of your Australian Subarus!!!!! :p

Peace!

Unless I've missed something, those cars available from Subaru UK, not Australia.

Back in about 2005, Lichfield had a similar vehicle called the Type 25.
Subaru Impreza (Litchfield Type 25)

Still very cool none the less.

Dont forget you lucky lads got the XT6, L series coupe, brat turbo, 'MY' series hatch and the outback baja. Oh, and all the better looking trunk garnishes!

We, however, get to drive on the correct side of the road:mrgreen:

Be nice if those new Camaros that were designed here came to our shores too, the wife would love one of those!

Im gonna chuck in the riding in the back of pickups and helmet-less bike riding in there too. Oh, and Red Lobster. Dammit, I have state envy!

We have that in Canada.

Now that I think about it,
I haven't seen any massive seafood specialty restaurants that boast heaps of fair-grade bargain seafood
aside from fish-n-chip shops and their batter is typically a bit bland.
Red Lobster often offers 4-6 different ways to cook any given type of seafood
distinctly different flavours and recipes.

I totally agree with all of the above! But I'm glad that we still get the EJ dual range gearbox (stab and twist!). And if we got the XT6 we most likely wouldn't have the crossbred conversion...

Necessity is the mother of invention is what someone once said! Hence Subaextreme for Australian conditions/image of their vehicles with front and rear bars!

All that said I'd love an RXII coupe! Already got the plans laid out for one if I ever manage to win tatts

Cheers

Not in Moab unless it's irrigated :-)

Hmmm. Well Suparu, you guys have some of the best reasons to own a Subaru: MTB, offroad, skiing and outdoor/wilderness territory.

Like Slickrock (and I only did the 'practice' circuit). Arches. Canyonlands/ Dead Horse Point. Grand Canyon North Rim. Bryce Canyon Hoodoos. The Hurricane - Escalante - Hanksville - Moab 'drive'. Snow! Olympic class ski resorts just outside Salt Lake City.

Nothing like cycling across a rock at about a 30 degree angle with no fear of slip, or looking down to see Jeeps toddling along a track about 1 mile below you...

We get all the best stuff? Uh-huh, for sure, you bet...!

Still, Australia has its benefits..I love Australia!!! :D

My view of turbo Subies in the rally scene was dimmed in the late ninties when I ferried a team about and they revealed the engine blocks were not made in Japan but in the UK by Cosworth .......
