I've seen a couple of trailers online that use MY suspension setup. I think it is the rear torsion bar setup? Never really looked at it to be honest.
Only ruminating over it at the moment but does anyone know the load rating of the rear axles on these?

I used the rear suspension out of a 2WD MY sedan, since it was not needed after the 4WD conversion. That meant it was very easy to set up and you have brakes if you need them...

Cool, yours must have been one of the ones I've seen.
Kinda like the novelty of it.
Trying to work out what I should claim the weight rating of the axle assembly would be for rego if I did this.
Building a boat trailer and tempted to go this way.
Gonna have to look for any threads about your trailer. Get me some build tips!

Could you check how wide the main rails ended up, outside to outside?
I don't know of one to check dimensions off.

Did it seem like the shocks could be used too?

I think the lengthwise rails are about 980mmfrom outside to outside. (can actually measure it tomorrow if you like).

As for the shocks, yes, you can use the shocks. Mine angle back in order to make them a little less stiff for a lightweight vehicle. It handles supurbly, behind any vehicle that's towed it so far.

Not sure of the load ratings but but I reckon it would be fine for a small trailer. IMO I'd be using the 4WD bar (without all the diff and cv shafts) as this has the windup function to had extra load and decrease for when empty.
