buying first wrx

hi guys

new to aussubaru, looking at buying my first wrx(second hand) inparticular up to 98...anything i should look for or know about the early models i.e problems etc....how long are the motors/ gearbox's good for? any help much appreciated

To get all the factory updates an MY99 or 2000 is better IMO . You can fit the wheels brakes etc but at what overall cost and whos going to want std MY 98 or earlier bits .
The younger and fresher the better and try to hold out for an absolutely factory standard car , less chance of it being a used up weekend flog toy .
