Service history is more important than mileage, good service history & 200k is better than none and 120k.

asking prce and acceptng price are two different things - tell them what you can offer, see if they bite!

+1
I went for the 120k and no service history option.

My foz wasn't mistreaded in anyway, just maintenance was neglected abit.
But due to that I had to spend a few thousand getting the old girl up to scratch.

I bought her with 119,000km and she now has 153,000km (owned the car for 18months). Just got a new clutch tooat 148,000km and now the gearbox whines like sh*t in 1st gear

Other than that though now a great car. Look for service history if possible. Or even a record of the maintenance if the owner has done it themselves.

It took me about 6 months to find Ruby Scoo... Right price, right time.

Keep looking and check out a few in person even though you know you it's outside your price range so you know what you're looking at when you finally find the one you're after.

Hardest part is leaving the excitement and the heart at home - list to you head and your gut instinct on the particular vehicle.

This MY99 WRX wagon (white) might be worth a flight up to sydney to check it out.

I'd be keen on it if I were after one and had the money to back up my interest in this model and shape!

Im 15 and had been looking for a Brumby, that wasn't a piece of $h*t and below $5,000.
i wasn't looking to hard as I was 14 / 15. When mum finally agreedto the idea, and i started looking propely, it maybe took 6 months.
One question why a hatch? If you need the boot room / space by a liberty. Way better.

There is that,
STI= Performance Vehicle
STI Hatch = Sexy
LIberty = Space, but no sexy

Yeah you do!

I would love a stock MY99 WRX hatch - so basically if I had the funds to justify it I would probably be keeping this to myself and checking it out. I wouldn't mind one as a daily runner

Wagons do indeed = porn.

If you can't fund a WRX, how about a RS Lib wagon? (somewhat biased here)

Yeah ok they are growing on me but it took a long time, I've owned 5 damaged ones which I've made 3 regoed ones out of & I doubt I'd like it if it wasn't for the wheel carrier, front bar, lift etc etc.

Good, it will take time but you will find it. its better to be patient and find the perfect one rather than rush out and buy a shi!!y one, where you end up tearing your hair out over frustraition!
