Coulant for a 93 GL 4wd?

I just looked through the Owner's Manual and all it says is "...we put a special coulant in there that works down to -36 C..." but didn't say what it was called.
I've never heard of anyone putting straight coulant into a cooling system. Back in Canada, it was always mixed a certain way. I think we used 30/70 (water/coulant) and people in colder parts used 50/50... or perhaps we used 50/50 and further north it was a bit more coulant than water.
What do you use in yours?

I'm running ~1 litre concentrate of anti boil anti freeze by Techtalloy (I think) in my cooling system, mainly because I'm a) in the snow and b) have an oversized radiator.
When not in the snow I just run the Techtalloy gold.
Anything will do the job though, just don't use water only!
Cheers

tectaloy gold is the bestest.
buy it as a concentrate and mix it with DISTILLED or de-mineralised water to the ratios they specify.

The important thing for a Subaru cooling system is ethylene glycol. The higher the concentration the better. If there is no ethylene glycol in the coolant (or anti freeze/anti boil) you might as well buy coloured water for all the good it will do.
The coolant should have a concentration of over 1000 m/mol per litre to be anygood. From memory coolant recommended for V6 Holden Commodores is around 1065 m/mol (just as an example) so would also work for Subarus.
Personally I have always used straight coolant, although this is not following the recomended mixing ratios of water to coolant as you can always add distilled water if needed.
