Found drag coefficient readings list on wiki

with drag of a Vortex at 0.29, another article from Australian Wheels magazine Jul 85, where they state it was measured in a Japanese wind tunnel and the reader is entitled to treat the rating with suspicion

Found the L Series Turbo Wagon in UK has a claimed Cd of 0.39 , not far off the Forester up to 2003 model at 0.405.

By comparison, the 2010 Toyota Prius got 0.25!

Like I said: I do know that the prius is a joke. To those who drive one in an effort to help reduce green house gasses/global emissions etc: what happens to your precious Prius when its usable life has been met and the batteries and other technological components of the vehicle need to be taken care of? How do we look after/break down/reuse these components? Most likely with some large energy consuming process that far outweighs the CO2 output of the largest passenger vehicle's lifetime including its recycling process!
Let the flaming begin (I know its coming, sorry Jonno for the hijack).

Talking about competitions, I should fire up the photo comp again and use the pics for a calendar for next year... Its something I've been thinking about for a while now.

Im only poking fun. I checked the site a few times this arvo and most of the replies had come from you pair. I noticed your post counts were close, so I thought I'd stir the pot

Not a worry, I'm a known pot stirrer back in the vineyard and at home I also wonder what happened to those comments that were related to post count - you know "be nice, I'm a subi noob", 3,000 posts 3 useful etc etc?

Plus I'm at home bored - the snow is not good enough to ski on (I can be picky as I live up here, you only ski the good to best conditions ) and there's not much else to do. Pub's not open in the building plus I've got zilch until pay

I've been trying to find things on the net, but its becoming very clear to me that I suck at google searches! They make it look SOOOOO easy in the movies!

And as for the drag co-efficient, at the time I think the vortex was better than the current ferrari of the time - at least in a head wind. Apparently its drag co-efficient went to shit when there was a side wind involved, just something I heard anyway!

Drag co efficiency I reckon is only really important if something moves through air really quickly and most things with an EA anything are not powerhouses .

Just last weekend there was an article in the paper about car life cycles and total carbon dioxide output - meaning manufacturing and I think a 120K life .
Not surprisingly compared to same or similar sized petrol fired cars the hybrid was only very slightly behind the conventional one and a lot of this revolved around its battery debacle .
The big news was that if , actually when , the expensive POS needs a replacement battery is life cycle carbon dioxide foot print is significantly higher than the conventional one meaning hybrid efficiency is a oxymoron .

The things to consider with Hybrids is :
High purchase price
Rapid devaluation
Poor performance
Poor handling
Ecological failure

I have a dim view of anyone owning these things because the concept is one of deception and advertising that one is a seen to be pretender is pretty stupid .

Put Blanchet in one because like all actors she's paid way too much to pretend to be some worthwhile individual and blatently isn't .
