G'day all.

I post this as I find it interesting, and a little disheartening - I say that as this is the setup I'm in the process of aiming for, while most of its been done before I thought it might have been a first for victoria. Wrong.

Anyway, if anyone has a spare $4-6G to part with here it is

A couple of things I would love to know about this: What lift is used? Body/strut?

The 14 inch rims - how they were made, if the stock centre was taken and welded to a 14 inch ring for the rim, why not use a sunraiser rim for better looks?

And last I'd love to know who did the certification and how much it all cost - if I was looking to buy I would want to see the certification paperwork first.

Now to get back to Ruby's build...

The ad says "Full Body lift", and the 14" rims are standard Peugeots.

Bah, that hump of junk has nothing on Ruby. Those rims look awful and I'm not a fan of those weird rear tire carriers.

You didn't know that somebody had slapped a lift kit and an EJ in an L series before?
Looks like a pretty normal setup to me? You can see a lift block in the last photo.
Yes I wonder what kind of rims they are. Maybe off some kind of Pug or perhaps custom made.
Gearbox setup is interesting. The interior looks like it's an L series box so must have been cracked open to have 4.111 diff put in, rear diff is probably a VLSD one from an early RS unless it's an RX CLSD that's been re-ratio'ed to 4.111. If it is an AWD one then that's obviously quite rare.

i was only talking to my boss this afternoon about building one of those roof racks and wondering what it would look like. i sort of got an idea now after seeing the one on that..

Nah, I was amazed that someone's managed to get engineering for this setup.

And the build is for me, but I don't mind the odd spectator

Yeah interesting about the diff, I just presumed it would have been one of the clsd units. The gearbox is what I'm working towards. I'm keen to know who did the engineering too. Think I need to send this fella a message.

I've been thinking of a rack up the top, but dunno what I want really plus I tie heaps of different stuff up there and a basket might get in the way...

These are standard Subaru L series 14" rims that were available as an option in Japan (and maybe in USA??) but are EXTREMELY rare to find now days The wheel trims are also factory issued ones.

i was thinking of just a flat rack as in just the mesh floor, not actually a high sided one. that way if its no good i'll just build the sides up a bit higher

Bennie why don't you give Brian a call and ask him about it? If he can point you towards an engineer who has already certified everything you've done to your car it would be a good start.

The thing that makes me wonder about the lift is that the factory bash plate is still in use without modification like I've done to mine, plus the alloy checker plate exhaust bash plates are the same in that they wouldn't clear the factory EJ Y pipes.

I didn't know this about those rims. I thought he may have had them made up... Sounds like a good find as they wouldn't be as heavy as the scorpions!

That should work. My only thought is that the mesh could be noisy at speed unless you put a wind guard on the front of it to break up the air flow.
