they'd do it wouldn't they, just to play with our minds.

Looking up T'subarus preferred supplier for some brake pads to find our Bendix DB418 for front of all our L Series and DB419 (logic) for the rears.

Bendix list DB numbers in US for these L Series but looks to be DB311 from memory (need to remeber to use Windows to its max)

Reckn it is done to avoid cross cean purchasing on part numbers alone?

DB418 are 17.8mm thick, FMSI No. 7213-D311 .... lightbulb must have good amory and it helps to think things out aloud

DB419 are 15.0mm

FMSI No. 7215 D314

You may find that different countries have different legislation leading to different brake pad materials .

Yeah, think US banned asbestos before we did, they list organic (reads asbestos ?) , asbestos free etc

Codes could also be made to reflect/detail where they were made etc - thus a US brake pad will possibly have a different code to an Australian brake pad for the same application...

The other thing would be that the US and Australian branches of the same company probably don't talk to each other, much like most of the department of our governments :(

This is where websites such as rockauto.com come in handy when looking for specific parts - get the codes then shop around online to get the best deal ;)

Cheers
