Depends where you drive.

If its country roads with gradual bends, you will probably just notice more tyre wear and more fuel use. When it was raining, i used to whack it into 4WD to prevent front wheel spin (EA82T wagon)

If its more city driving with tight turns on hard, dry pavement, you may end up with possible gearbox damage. Again you will wear your tyres and use more fuel. You will be able to feel the bind up on slow turns. The tyres will skip and the engine will struggle to move the car on really tight turns.

If you drive on bitumen you could do serious damage to the drive train the diffs will 'wind up' and could break. sand or gravel or other loose surfaces allow the wheels to skip and relieve the pressure.

even with gradual bends on sealed country roads you will end up with a worn out gearbox that will just end up feeling loose if not failing in the 4wd mechanism department at some stage.

Fuel usage will increase as will the wear on your CVs and tyres at the same time.

Over all I would recommend not doing this unless it is raining as Gannon has said. 4wd in the wet is tops! Especially in the 'burbs or city as you'll be the one moving forward before anyone else due to the 4 wheel traction - unless the other fella has a WRX/lib etc...
