Howdy!

Just wondering if anyone knew the spec difference between the VF2 & VF4?

also, what is the diameter (O.D.) of the compressor outlet?

Cheers.

As far as ive gathered from other threads, the VF2 is the non watercooled version from the early EA81T engines.
The VF4 is the watercooled one that was retrofitted to EA81T's with overheated turbo issues and was factory fitted to early EA82T's . Both i think are the same specification.
The VF7 had the larger exhaust turbine and was used with the spider manifold EA82T's

Disco is the guy with the info (in case i have made a boo boo)

Gee its a long time since I thoughht about EA82s OE turbos , AFAIK all EA82T turbos were essentially the same except some northern European countries got a version with a very rare and desirable slightly larger turbine housing .

From memory I dug out cattledogs of these old IHI VF series turbos and the cartridge numbers were all the same meaning same compressor and turbine wheels .

If you wanted a bit more potential in a std config bolt on turbo you'd use the cartridge from the US spec VF11 because it used the same turbine and a slightly larger trim version of the same OD compressor wheel .

If you want a runner turbo we have two that are in usable condition .
And two headers and two by two we filled the Arc LOL

Still have a few EA82T bits making the cave look untidy , can't bear to throw them out .

Good man Adrain! Its these little collections of parts that help out others later down the track when they're looking for the hard to find stuff. That said it only helps them out if the owner is willing to part with the stock!

Cheers

Think the answer to your question is 42mm

If the outlet with the white rag stuffed into it is the dimension OD you were after.... it is 42mm below the 'keep-the-hose-on lip'

I'm willing , I need the space to part out Ellie if she doesn't sell .

What a potential list of oh so desirable gold ...
