Make it a SLEEPER!

I know the EJ22 makes the L's an awesome subi to drive compared to stock - a turbo halfcut would be the way to go with your vortex! It would be one smooth ride and parts would be easy to get as well as more power if you ever felt the need

Cheers

i would love to go the turbo route EJ of coarse, failing that a Ej22 and matching d/r awd would be fine. i missed picking up a complete rs wagon for $900 with only a side ding 2 days before my wedding (future/curent wife wouldnt had been happy if i snapped it up).

with the ej22 i could still run standard brakes pretty safely, and a ej22 with 3.9 diffs and 13" wheels fly.

Looking good.. an EJ22 with d/r would be awesome if you plan on taking it offroad?

maybe a beach run or two every now and again. I might go the 22 route with d/r. Its easier/cheaper and i've done one before.
Can anyone tell me will a ej d/r fit with out lift?

someone put a ej box in a unlifted rx, cant recall who though.

even in my last lifted wagon (3") i found the linkages tight to route.

ok so i now have a ej25, need to do the gaskets but that doesnt bother me.
i have some wiring questions but photobucket is being a bitch! basicly under dash im guessing this is like a 22 conversion with only the main relay and fuel pump relay (brown and green) being needed?

aswell i've been thinking about the power supply, since i have all front parts of the loom i have the under bonnet fuse box.
now what i was thinking is tracing the power wiring back through that? (i still dont have the right ecu pin out)the the only thing that i wont know is what should be hot and switched?

im guessing keyless control module and the cruz module next to it can be removed completely aswell as any unused plugs.

since i didnt have a afm or ignigther i have used ej22 items and they plug straight in. i also used the plastic ej22 intake ducting, this only needed swaping of 2 hose's and the lengthing of another.

heres a pic of my engine

engineer.... what engineer haha

i have the full ej driveline (from the same car as the engine) hubs/brakes so one day it might be legal. for the moment it wont :)

sa is a little relaxed unless noticed and stickered it wont be inspected and police wouldnt know what they are looking at when they pop the hood. i know of a guy whos been driving a mk1 escot with a sr20 turbo for 15 years unengineered.

Should be about the right power upgrade anyway!
Been trying to work out where the inspiration came from for the styling of what my mate describes as a door wedge. Can see some Supra, some Prelude, some Corvette, some *SPIT* TR7. Think it was the wiki article that made some mention of its drag co efficient of 28? I don't think we have a car yet any better than 28 do we?

No way it will ever be legal in SA!

As for being caught, is only an issue if (1) you happen to come across a mobile defect station where the inspectors are from Regency, working with Police Officers, or (2) involved in a smash that the SA Police Crash Investigation Unit are involved in - ie they forensically examine your car.

I know point (2) from experience, as they were involved in the investigation of my (at the time stolen) modified L-Series (see avatar). They wanted to understand how it reached the speeds it did whilst being pursued. Was ok, because the mods were all legal like.

Then it becomes a whole world hurt from an insurance, and third party viewpoint.

Also note if you do insure it, you will lying to an insurance company, (as it will not be roadworthy), which can have longer term ramifications in later life.

i understand the legal side of everything, this is not a daily. Its just my toy....... Does anyone agree with my plans for wiring or have pointers?

ok so i started triming the loom down today, got almost everything stripped and have hit a wall again...
VV does this look like a NORMAL amount of wires to be remaining from the ecu?
Image
ignighter/afm/o2 all plugged in
Image
green/black plugs, main relay and pump relay
Image
my main unknown issue is from the 2 plugs on the passanger side (your drivers side) is a green and purple wire from the smaller of the 2 plugs, are no longer attached to any thing?? and i cant recall were they might have come from?
Image

so after all this im still scratching my head as to were im going to tap in the power and if one ground is enough?

so no wiring gurus on the ej25?

I didn't do my wiring of the Ej25 in my L series, but i took it out and stripped it off all the tape the other week and i also have a purple wire going from that plug that's going nowhere. Green wire i'm not sure about, I can have a look on Saturday.

Have you got a wiring diagram or ECU pin out? I've got about 3 but none match the wire colours coming out of my ECU.

my ecu has a odd ecu plug compaired to all the pinouts i have?
if you could, it would be great to check that green wire :)
i have been going by tracing wires back and by a colour chart from http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php ... 68&start=0

it looks the goods but i am worried about the excessive wiring not used from the ecu and were i should add my powers and maybe a extra ground?
