Installing Factory Nudge Bar on Forrester

Hey Suba-Dudes,

As the title says I have scored a factory nudge bar off a 99 Forester and want to install it on my 99GT so I can hang some spotties off it. Having a look at the bumper bar of my 99GT it doesnt appear to have any obvious mounting points on it for the nudge bar, so I am assuming that there is some framework found in the bumper bars of ordinary foresters that allows the mounting of the nudge bar? So I am wondering if I have stuffed up and what I want to do with the nudge bar is not possible? I know that there are other options for nudge bars out there (thanks Paul) but this seemed like a cheap/easy option. Perhaps its not the case? thanks for any thoughts/opinions.

Cheers,
Corax.

When you say nudge bar are you talking a chrome bar or the brush guard which is essentially is just more plastic hanging off the front?

If it is the later, from memory there is some hole drilling required.

Any pics or links?

Sorry about that, its the standard 'brush guard' (didnt know that they were called that) not a chrome bar. Though I wish I could afford a chrome one:). Sorry no pics/links, no longer own a camera but I think everybody knows the type that I am talking about? I think about 90% of the N/A Foresters have them, so yeah just some more plastic hanging off the front.

If it is the one am thinking of, it is in addition to what the NAs have - was a OME option.

Best to drop into Subaru parts - there is a detailed fitting instruction leaflet that you will need - it has a template for the drilling of x2 20mm holes thru your existing bumper to mount the guard.
