Post by niterida » Sun Jan 30, 2011 11:02 pm

Well my Subaru family is rapidly expanding. I already have 2 Brumbys but now I have added a Gen 2 Liberty wagon and Gen 3 Outback for $4500 :

The green one is a 99 2.5 auto - got high kms but has had a recon engine and is only in fair condition.
The blue one isn't an Outback - its a Liberty GX Touring wagon - which is basically a GX with Outback paint scheme. So its only a 2.2 and doesn't have airbags or ABS :-( It is a 96 auto with only 160,000kms though and in pretty good condition.
Not too bad for $4500 for BOTH OF THEM :D

Yes.. very good score. Yeah the GX really looks like the Outback of that gen but I guess the wheels, front bumper and road height (bit hard to tell in pics) give it away.

The Commodore is a low k, rare VN V8 Berlina wagon in immaculate condition - sold it for $2000 (and I was lucky to get that) to finance the Outback which was $2500.

But the Outback had a broken rear tail light, dented rear quarter and the front diff is whiny and the auto is iffy. So for another $50 I got a tail light and $100 got me a new box. The rest of the car is only average - poor condition but it was still a bargain.

Unfortunately the Liberty has also been smacked up the bum and is a bit worse for wear. A new tailgate and tail light are needed, but the tailgate opening is quite badly damaged - worse than I thought when I looked at it and bought it :-( But it is low ks and in really good condition so I still think it was a bargain too at $2000.
