water in oil??

doing a run today the L series EA82 started to lose power and radiator boiled.
Took a look at oil, there is a lot of white stuff in the oil and in the aircleaner.
The only thing I have changed lately is last night I retarded the timing a fraction as the flash gun timing light thingy showed it was a bit advanced and it pings a lot on steepish hills even at speed. Anyway, I think the motor has gone to the happy hunting ground, it runs very rough and is hard to start.
would it be better to rebuild or does anyone in WA have a halfway decent n/a EA 82 they want to sell?
No I don't want to go injected. Although I would be partial to have a go with a 2.0 or 2.2 to use with carby.

Well he did say it had SOME interesting stuff in it
Tony.. I have both EA82 engines and EJ engines in the workshop.. You could drop over and we can work out exactly what you're after (final result) and go from there.
Once the intial setup on the EJ Carby/Dizzy is done, then next engine change over isn't too bad

yep thats the one and I did say "some interesting stuff" it really depends on what you are looking for Tony.
Im extremely impressed with my EJ carby setup it took a lot of working out from everybody involved. But now that the process is a known quantity the changeover is relatively simple

Sorry didn't mean to scare you.. was just thinking for further down the track.. if you still owned the car. If not it's a good selling point.

ha ha thanks might have a look at it if I can get down in time, little 3 pot screamer, that is if I don't buy the neighbours X something ?? Foulcan ute, just had new clutch, radiator recore, power steering, all for $500.
Only problem is he promised it to someone else the other day, has been trying to sell it half heartedly for months, I think he was not really serious, good utes are handy and for the money probably worth keeping. Should know in next couple of days. will do to get around in.
Read all 497.. posts for Toonga, interesting will have to keep my eye out for EJ 2 or whatever it is, but Toonga doesn't tell us what killed Frank.
oh I am near eneabba.
