Hi there,

I'm trying to get a blue slip for a 2007 WRX tuned by sti. The guys are saying that the engine numbers match that of the 2005 liberty GT? This is a major problem as they wont allow us to register it as a WRX. No engine swap has been done so its very bizarre!

Can anyone think of any reasons as to why this might be? Any one heard of this before?

Thanks

99% sure it's the same 257 2.5L block so what's it got to do with them?

Thanks guys,

The guy is saying that the engine number doesn't match the vin. There's no way its had an engine swap so I'm a little confused.

Hi Micmac,
have you done a REV'S check to see what it comes up as
Hylton:twisted:

you register it as it says on its Australian Compliance plate, if it was sold new here with compliance plate. It will have a CPA number in top left corner, five digits - jot this down for RTA tech heads reference.

Ring 1300 137302 up to 11 am sat morn, it is nsw tech enquiries, and explain what you have been told. Did they actually do blue slip and fail you giving you the white slip with reasons written on it?

Blue slip is an identity check and a safety check and not really up to the blue slipper to determine the engine numbers not up to scratch - really, more reporting what is there and if RTA wish to reject you they will not the blue slipper - change in engine number may come under owner certified modification

Blue slipper has a record of sample engine numbers and vins to compare, may be an eror or not included for STi

Do not get up tech standards guys even if they sound a bit short with you. Get near a fax so you can fax them a copy if need be and ask if they can help sort things out.
