No problem at all Dave, I was glad I could help. It was great to meet you guys, and i quite enjoyed the day. I hope that ball joint isn't too bad. If you want to change it you're more than welcome to come over again.

Matt. I think we should have a bit of a get together, even if we just meet on the strand or go find a nearby track for a drive. I have another mate with a lifted MY that I will try to get to come along too. Who else is around? I haven't seen Brumby Boy post on here in a while.

Dave,

If coming back thru Adelaide, give us (the SA crew) a shout.

Hopefully just for a pint or two, but if repairs are needed, I'm sure we can sort you out.

Good stuff guys! Glad you got it sorted Dave. I first heard about this on bookface...

How was the hub stuffed? I'm guessing the bearing running surface was chewed out or something of the like.

Gotta love the subi community! Keep up the good work.

Cheers

if you look at the pic I posted, the inner bearing race is the collection of bits, and that is supposed to press onto the exposed part of the hub next to it. The inner race of the outer bearing is still on the hub, as i couldn't get it off. If you look at the hub, it has a lip on the end, and that is not supposed to be there, but is meant to be a constant diameter. The new bearing had probably 1mm of clearance instead of being a press fit.

Hi gang, I'm in the T'ville area and my 99 outback desperately needs a service. I was wondering if anyone could tell me of where I should take her or if you could help me out. Any advice would be appreciated, cheers, Carl.
