Buying a 2nd hand Liberty

Post by markle » Sun Oct 17, 2010 9:38 pm

What does one need to look for when buying a second hand Liberty. Around '91-'93 model. I'll get a mechanic to check it of course but is there anything that I should be on the look out for that is particular to Libertys? Especially anything that will be expensive to fix.

Thanks in advance.

they're tough cars that I know of, look for rust signs, inspect CV joints for noises, same goes for the gearbox.
normally from what I can think of - nothing really goes wrong with them, apart from normal wear and tear. Also check for service history ie. Timing Belt etc

sorry, had the wifey standing over me asking when I was going to help with the housework....

Thanks for the responses, I kinda figured that it would be a good invest. Unfortunately I don't have a lot to spend so I want to get something that doesn't spend most of the time in the garage.
I don't have a mechanic friend so I just wanted to know major things I can check before I pay someone to check a car out.

Cheers
