Those dizzy screws - M4 0.8

Post by steptoe » Sat Sep 18, 2010 3:10 am

Just a bit of trivia for those that lose the screws or rather fine thread bolts out of dizzies on EA's. I took a dizzy to local nut and bolt dudes for a match up and invoice says they are M4 0.8mm pitch. I got some mushroom headed allen head ones at about 30 cents each, sick of copping stripped screws on these quarter century old dinosaurs. The thread is same for cap hold down bolts, breaker and module plates to dizzy body and the centre bolt under the little cap under the rotor button.

I am in there fiddling with mechanical advance max reduction by increasing diameter of the pins beneath where advance springs clip on, using model shop tube supplies. LPG does not like or need the same advance up higher revs that petrol does. The weights stop against the pins, increase their girth decreases max advance
