Looking at picking up a 2nd hand 2006/2007 Outback, anything in particular I should be looking for, aside from undercarriage damage and general wear and tear?
Looking at one at the moment, 2007 MY07 Luxury, ~57,000km, good service history...
Cheers,
Nick

Service history is the big thing, but also look for signs of corrosion about the engine bay / guards. Yes, even if it's only 3 years old.

Mind you, unless the seller gives you all the receipts / service reports you'll never find out off Subaru anything about the history of the car other than the date and km at which normal servicing was completed. They cite the Privacy Act (even without anything covered under the Act like the previous owner's details) so they will not give you info.

SERVICE history and history of the headgaskets on EJ25 is very important otherwise everything should be ok.
Cheers

Thanks guys, looks like I'll have to buy from interstate as there's SFA available in Adelaide at the moment.
This will make checking stuff a little harder

get one with the 3.0l 6 cylinder.
even though the early ej25 headgasket issues have been fixed.
the 6 cylinder is a great, powerful motor.

Would love to, but there's nothing around in my price range (under 25k).
