Got the glug glug noises under dash, the digital engine metal temp gauge is sitting about 80 instead of 71, get home and yup water is dripping at a fair rate and found it, one of the original molded heater hoses. Experience and the watchdog saves the day. Steptoe wanders down to the shed, may just have a used emergency spare....

was also impressed to feel the factory EA82T intercooler (alloy crossover inlet pipe) was only just warm to touch not stinkin' hot, rad cap also cold to the touch when popped bonnet at home.

Well, after replacing the easier bits, two year old standard heater hose that had little cracks and blisters on them (part of my LPG conversion) the leak was still there, in the molded heater hose - the one with two right bends in it attaches at firewall innermost with a yellow out arrow on it.
This is the first time I have noticed a hole does not goes straight through. After the hose has been sitting dryng for a while i picked it up and could massage more colant gunk out of the hole. It had got a leak on the inside layer somewhere and travelled around along the hose to leak out where it finally did.

It may well have been a good time to try silver seal powders to do a temporary fix - too late, all done, using a unicoil (West Aussie invention? now sold by Gates!) to give some unkinkable bend to standard heater hose on hand. Must have tossed good used molded hose to avoid soon after failure.
