Hi,I have used this forum as a source of good guidence for while so I thought I should make a contribution. This is about a Brumby I bought a couple of weeks ago and the progress I have made. The older I get the more I try to do things rationally,but as usual it dosn't seem to work out that way. I looked at a lot of Brumbys between the Sunshine coast and the Gold Coast,but in the end every car one buys is a compromise and I got tyred of looking. I am a panel beater and the last thing I wanted was a car that had been "got at" before so I bought this one that was still origanal paint all over but it had some rust in the back from haveing a rubber mat in it. The rest of the car is spotless for rust so that was my compromise. I have a EJ20t half cut to go in it in the next 6 mounths or so,and a set of wheels that will go on after I get it regoed. As you can see I painted some strips on it a bit like a brat. I'm not sure I like it but I think it will look better with the black sunraysia's I have for it. I will post a pic when I get the wheels on it.

Like your metalwork,it is good to see someone who has far more advanced skills than TAFE equips people with these days.
Have you considered supplying Subaru specific rust repair panels as many both here and overseas would welcome a source of repair panels to either fit themselves or supply to a good panel beater.
Dare I say it but your work rates you as being a preffered specialist for board members based in Queensland,it is rare these days sadly to find someone with such a Skillset and obviously the tooling to manufacture panels as you obviously have.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.I was origanaly planning to fit an EJ22 but the half cut came up at a silly price so I had to buy it. Replacing the floor took a couple of days but if your gonna do it,do it right. The most important thing about doing rust repairs is to do it in a way that allows you to get at the back of everthing that's been welded so it can be painted or rust proofed. Every time you weld a piece of steel it oxodises and makes it more subseptable to rusting than the origanal metal. I then drenched the car with lanolin (awsome stuff,I love it).

Just an update pic or 2. I have the wheels on it now and it looks heaps better. The pic is mine and my son's brumby. My son's has an EA82t with EMS,intercooler,5 speed with 17" rims and lowered. For the time being I have just adjusted the front struts up as far as they will go but I want to do a 2" lift later on.

Hi mate, hows the ea82T going. Are you getting and noise from the lash adjusters (tic tic) noise.

Yes, the lifters tic. They come and go,sometimes can go weeks without any noise. We have no intention of fixing it,they can tic till there hearts content.

Wow just gotta love it when a person takes such pride in their work Brumby/Brat is looking great with the new wheels and paint job.
I just hope that when I get my Brumby that it comes up looking as good when I'm finished with it being an old fart and this is going to be my first Suby who knows ehehehe
I'll be asking heaps of questions and looking for advice.
