Round here it would have been crispy toasty, the young idiots that steal and bushbash cars here drive them till they stop, then burn them. You are one lucky Brumby owner.

Agreed with Battlewagon! VERY lucky!!
I was in 'rat a few weeks ago to help a mate move house. Came in via Dean - never done that before. We passed a brumby on the side of the road and I could have sworn it was yours, I wasn't allowed to pull over to leave a note
Glad you've got it back! Might be time for an immobiliser and some keyless entry to go with it
Cheers
Bennie

cool.. as long as you don't get one of those crazy calls from the radio station saying they believe it was an inside job as they found your finger prints all over the car.. they sucked a guy in over here with that one was going off big time
Do you have a alarm/immobiliser fitted to it? if not highly recommend one

Bennie, i reckon i saw you turn onto sturt st few weeks ago. was a few cars behind you.
Na i dont have an alarm/immobiliser fitted, might one day but for now think i might just invest in a steering lock.

90 poo cent deterent the old steeering wheel lock i hear. So, did you leave the keys in it, or can a screwdriver open doors and start car? Spare above the visor? Or you need a new lock or two

I saw a mystery L series with lift, sunnies front and rear bars and same colour as bennies going south on the freeway to melb just out of Ballarat. Driver also had big hair

But apparently wasn't Bennie.
BTW its good you got your Brumby back. Lucky it wasn't burnt out in Canadian forest. I'd be wiring in a kill switch for the fuel pump or ignition and hiding it under the dash somewhere. Will cost you $5 if that. Little fuggers might come back if they know they can get into your car now.
Cheers,
Rhys

i had it locked an no keys inside. looks like they jammed a screwdriver in the passenger door and it is possible to turn the ignition to 'on' with just a screwdriver.
will probably put in a kill switch somewhere not sure where yet.
was thinking before it would be pretty funny if the kill switch controlled a change over relay connected to the ignition and then lights, horn, radio and whatever else were connected to that as well. so when the kill switch is on the ignition controlls the lights and horn, just so they get a bit of a fright. Wont be doing anything that involved but was just a thought.
cheers

Good news that you got your ride back mate!
As for the kill switch, I've heard of it being wired into old electric fense wire woven under a seat cover... if you don't flick the right switch then KAZAP! one very surprised car theif... not like I condone violence to scum-sucking-car-stealing arseholes!
I like the idea though, $5 immobiliser

You are right.. I don't condone it either but if you steal other peoples cars then you deserve everything you get !!
