L Series centre brake light?

Started noticing some L wagons have factory centre brake light, anyone know when this started. Only noticed since fitting a same year Camry sedan centre brake light into my L Sedan

My 89 doesn't have it but my 90 does but I believe it was an ADR thing so maybe some info on the Dept. of Transport website??

it is an ADR thing. about 89/90 they did it. mine had to have it done when it was brought into the country back in 2001 . that said they are all wired for it in the hatch harness. the brak wire may not be in the body harness but its not hard to do.
