$80 Brumby Track racer ute

Post by guyph_01 » Sun Apr 11, 2010 5:01 pm

Hi guys,

I bought this beige brumby for $80 as i need parts off it, basically bullbar, some interior parts and some small other bits. I wanted to wreak it and keep or sell it as parts but then i started to think.

Not sure if many of you remember this thread:
showthread.php?t=15656&highlight=race+leone

But i was thinking of doing the same but with the ute.
Its pretty much stock, engine has a blown head but im thinking if i race in it to put an EJ22 or 25 with a Awd box.

What do you guys think? Would it be a good body to do a race car in?
It looks like most of the suspention and chassis is still in good cond, of cause all that will be checked before i start.

I'll go pick it up next week and put up some pics.

It definately would be a quick race car if you stripped the uneccecary weight and put an EJ into it. I'd like to see how it goes

I think you should sell it to me (once you got the bits you need) if it's in good nick :)

It was a farm ute, kid drove it around and hit everything they could lol. Its not that bad.

Not sure yet what to do, I may end up parting it as don't really have more money to invest in another project. Any one needs parts?

Im keeping the bullbar, the doors and the rear tail light:P

out at the mount alma hillblimb yesterday saw that there were 2 utes racing, both datsun 1200s.
btw if you dont know me its, subarus-datsuns-hondas
the only way i roll
it would be quick but it would be incredibly difficult to get the weight balance and the suspension set up.
if your just going for s**ts and giggles do it it would be quiet amazing

Like I said in the first post i'll pick it up this week and put some pics then.

Pretty sure it doesn't have the vented brakes and calipers.
